A moving and potent documentary exploring the career of the legendary artist David Wojnarowicz, who emptied his entire life into his practice.
A wondrous, intimate, and often outrage-inspiring biographical portrait of the artist and his times.
An incredibly powerful catalogue of legendary artist David Wojnarowicz, spoken in his own voice. Archival footage and recordings from Wojnarowicz’s personal archive collaged together with friends, fellow artists and family’s intimate recollections creates an impactful and fiery documentary showcasing the personal and public life of David Wojnarowicz.
Wojnarowicz's work became a weapon against the silence and neglect from the United States government during the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Bumping shoulders with artists and thinkers such as Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Nan Goldin and Fran Lebowitz, just to name a few, Wojnarowicz brought a controversial rage to the famous East Village art scene. Beginning his career with militarised, anonymous street art to bringing garbage and bugs into rich art collectors' homes to creating some of the most provocative and thrilling art of the late 1980s, Wojnarowicz’s career is a behemoth of potent and mighty work.
Wojnarowicz: F*ck You F*ggot F*cker is an intimate revelation of how an artist emptied his entire life into his practice. Whether you’re deeply familiar with his work, or simply curious about the incendiary figure, this film is a deeply moving portrait of a complex and masterful artist's existence.
