In Judy & Punch, the titular characters perform puppet shows for a living. The theatre they perform in is saturated yellow from candlelight and flickering shadows. To help them shine, costumer designer Edie Kurzer contrasted the yellow with these bold red outfits. Kurzer also involves the actors in fashioning their character’s clothing. Damon Herriman, who plays Punch, wanted to take his jacket off when puppeteering, so the shirt beneath was designed to be visually interesting without the jacket.
