Part of the “Leaders of the 20th century: portraits of power” this episode begins in 1958 when Charles De Gaulle is called to lead France after a civil war. De Gaulle forms the Fifth Republic and institutes a presidential style of government for ten years bringing political, economic and financial stability to FRance until he is forced out by waves of unrest in 1968.
