Steamboat Willie is the first animated film to use synchronised sound, and the first Mickey Mouse cartoon ever released. Mickey appears as a crew member on a riverboat which is captained by big bad Pete. Minnie Mouse is the passenger who joins Mickey as he uses various props as musical instruments.
