The film shows the daily work of Jim McKenzie, a taxi driver from Perth in Western Australia. Jim lives five miles from the city with his wife and daughter. He owns his own cab and has been in the business for four years. The hours are long - but driving a cab means that a man is his own boss - which is imnportant to Jim McKenzie.
