In World War I dancer Jerry Jones stages an all-soldier show on Broadway, called Yip Yip Yaphank. Wounded in the War, he becomes a producer. In World War II his son Johnny Jones, previously his father’s assistant, gets the order to stage a new all-soldier show, called “This is the army”. But in his personal life he has problems, because he refuses to marry his fiance until the war is over. Cast includes George Murphy, Joan Leslie, George Tobias, Alan Hale, Kate Smith, and men from the armed forces including Ronald Reagan and Joe Louis. Based on the play by Irving Berlin, music and lyrics by Irving Berlin. Includes bonus blooper footage of Ronald Reagan in rehearsal. Note: “Copyright Thirtieth Cemalux Pty Ltd 1986”
