A theatre production of music, song and dance filmed without an audience, “A Night on the town” is a foray into the world of nightclubs in Berlin, London, New York, New Orleans and Paris through a nostalgic recreation of the thirties. It features the music of Irving Berling, Noel Coward, Cole Porter and George Gershwin (An American in Paris) performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Alexander Faris. The cast includes Hinton Battle, Lewis Collins, Frank Gorshin, Eartha Kitt, John Moffatt, Elaine Paige, Ann Reinking, Bobby Short along with the Ambrosian Chorus. Staged and choreographed by Terry Gilbert with guest choreography Irving Davies (An American in Paris).
