This disc features a collection of short animated works, produced by the National Film Board of Canada. The contents include: “Cactus swing”. Fun musical short celebrating desert flora and fauna. “La Salla”. Unusual, inventive and fun animated piece about one man exploring his environment, whilst singing Italian opera (with English subtitles). “64 Million years ago”. Stop-motion animated piece that recreates the world of the dinosaur. “Evolution” Humorous illustration about the natural process of evolution. “Hot stuff” Award winning film about fire as the servant of man. “Every dog’s guide to home safety” Hilariously addresses home safety for infants and young children. “The Family that dwelt apart” E. B. White story about a family of seven fisher folk living on a remote island. “The Dingles” The story of Doris Dingles and her three cats one wild and windy day. “Every child = Chaque enfant” The story of a baby who appears mysteriously on the door of a busy executive, and who is subsequently bounced from household to household. These fine works feature world-class animation that delves into children’s rights, relationships, animal behaviour and human frailty.
