Television documentary series in the ‘reality TV’ genre that follows a year in the life of students at Australia’s best known drama school, the National Institute for Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney. The series begins with the gruelling audition process, then charts the progress of the successful candidates through their first year of the three year course. Simultaneously, the challenges faced by the students who have made it to third year are documented, as they prepare for graduation and entry into the professional world of acting. The series places a strong emphasis on the personal struggles of the students as they face the challenges involved in learning to become professional actors.
