A Micmac scale basket: national Indian arts and crafts

The Micmac Indians have been making splint baskets out of black ash for hundreds of years. Rita and Noel Michael from Shibenacadic reserve continue this ancient handicraft, creating many different styles to suit various needs. In this film they make a traditional scale basket, from rough log to the finished product.
