Episode number 3 of Series “Tales of the four seasons = Contes des quatre saisons”.
Gaspard (Melvil Poupard), a musically inclined maths graduate with time to kill is waiting for his girlfriend, Lena, in the resort town of Dinard, unbeknownst that his stable and uneventful life is about to be turned on it head when he becomes torn between his affections for three women. He whiles away the lazy afternoon hours with Margot (Amanda Langlet), a part time student and pancake house worker, and most importantly - a good listener. Margot wants a purely platonic relationship with Gaspard as she already has a boyfriend. Enter likely candidate number three, Margot’s friend Solene (Gwenaelle Simon), whom Gaspard becomes instantly smitten with and agrees to spend a weekend with on the island of Ouessant. When Lena finally arrives on the island Gaspard must finally make a choice between three women who are all offering him something different in the relationship stakes. In French with English subtitles. This film, the third in Rohmer’s “4 Season cycle” finds the director in fine story telling form.
