This film traces fifty years in the life of Antonia, a strong willed matriarch who founds a dynasty after returning to her village in the Dutch countryside shortly after World War II. The narrator, Antonia’s great-granddaughter, emphasises the cyclical nature of life in a small rural community. Cast includes Willeke van Ammelrooy, Els Sottermans, Jan Decleir, Marina de Graaf and Mil Seghers. In Dutch with English subtitles.
