Shows what soil is and how it is formed - then illustrates the damaging effects of water and wind erosion. Another damaging depletion is the loss of nutrients in the soil. Illustrates with on the spot examples of how the U.S. conservation service in 1969 combated these projects that range from contour ploughing to land use planning.
