Episode number 4 of Series “Dancing in the street: a rock and roll history”.
Afro-american musicians developed their own unique style which celebrated their rich cultural heritage. The episode ‘Make it funky’ features interviews and perfomances by such legends as James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. The final episode in the series ‘Planet rock’ looks at rap, hip-hop and techno and the use of computers as musical instruments which allow music to become an instant global experience. Features interviews and clips from New Order, The Beastie Boys and Public Enemy.
