Discusses how sexual reproduction, plant propagation and factors affecting plant growth are vital in establishing new plants for commercial production. Dormancy, the means by which a seed may survive in conditions where a plant may not, and different methods of seed scarification used to commence germination are also examined. Highlights methods of propagation including obtaining cuttings, grafting, budding and the use of rootstock.
