Offers an introduction to the history of photography in Australia and its gradual acceptance as an artform by museums and educational institutions. Local authorities in the field discuss changing attitudes to photography. In particular Sue Fereday, Director of the Centre for Contemporary Photography, and Isobel Crombie, Curator of Photography at the National Gallery of Victoria explain their policies towards collecting and exhibiting photography.
