An informative and entertaining film that combines an overall perspective of Australia with fascinating stories that relate to special places, individuals, events and recreational activities. These stories form the fabric of the film, stories about the historic Rocks area of Sydney, the Great Barrier Reef, the colourful Ghan railway, the mystical Ayers Rock and the world-famous Sydney Opera House. Touring Australia touches on Australia’s history - colonial heritage, the struggle for independence and unique position beside the states of Asia. It also shows the timelessness of its land mass, special animals and the blending of many cultures. We see the great modern cities of Australia, the enchanting wilderness places from Kakadu to the Top End.
