Episode number 1 of Series “Around the world in 80 days”.
In this the first half of his journey, Michael Palin travels from London to Madras, via Venice, Alexandria, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Bombay. Dropping further and further behind schedule Palin struggles with missed connections, bureaucratic negotiations and seasickness until, after a quick shave by a blind man with a cut-throat blade, he boards the train to Madras, only to find his seat has been given to three different Michael Palins, one of them a woman!
