A film in search of Thea Astley through stories, anecdotes and a little bit of gossip. Australian writer, Thea Astley, holds forth on her attitudes to writing, rednecks, satire, sex, being a woman, inspiration, God and her spiritual home - the cafeteria. “Hunting the Wild Pineapple” blends excerpts of interviews with Astley and dramatised extracts from her writings.
