This is the background story of the making of the first atomic bomb. The period covered is from 1938 to the dropping of the bomb on Hiroshima in 1945. German efforts to create an atomic bomb are described. the intensive research into the development of the bomb in the US is dealt with extensively. Includes archival film and interviews with some of those involved.
