Based on Nevil Shute’s best selling novel, “A Town Like Alice” is set against the brutal chaos of World War 11 and centres on two prisoners of war an Englishwoman, Jean Paget and an Australian soldier Joe Harmon, whose romance begins during the takeover of Malaya in World War 11 and takes them to the vast Australian outback.
