Demonstrates methods of collecting pond animals, both microscopic and macroscopic, and encourages children to study pond life for themselves. A newt, stickleback and wil-i-gig beetle are caught and then in jars to the laboratory to be examined. Other animals seen are the water scorpion, Great Pond Snail, Water Boatmen, Daphnia and others. A drop of pond water is also studied under the microscope.
