Simon Preston, speaking from the console of the great Harrison organ in Westminster Abbey, tells of the history and construction of the instrument. He explains the simple theory of sound generation, the problems of providing constant air pressure, and the complexities of playing. Works by Mozart, Purcell and others are played.
