The variety of the country and the people of the Capricorn region of Queensland. Cattle and sheep grazing in the country surrounding Longreach, which is the market centre and shore worn; oil waiting to be struck; the Moura open-cut coal mines; and nearer the coast the Callide open cut; Mount Morgan copper, gold and silver mines; on the coast Rockhampton is the terminal for coals, minerals, wool and beef, and the beginning of the railway into the heart of Queensland.
