Cinemagazine items: The “Dry-Flo” process for reclaiming the scrap copper in old cables in which copper granules are separated from the insulation in a stream of iron fillings; the development of a baby in early pregnancy can bring anxiety to the mother - Ultrasound produces pictures of the inside of the womb and is used to make sure that evrything is progressing normally; a length of bamboo and a smooth round pebble make a pump in a rice field in Southeast Asia - updated and motorised, this simple pump is finding applications in modern industry; a new oil filter removes virtually all contaminants from engine oil - its secret is a roll of very fine fibre.
