In response to a rapid expansion in population the Pakistani government has sought the aid of foreign technicians and advisers to widen the labour market through the development of new industrial products. Their goal is twofold: to utilise the ancient skills of Pakistani craftsmen and to train the masses of unskilled workers to meet the demands of modern technology.
