A soft iron core introduced into a coil carrying an alternating current shows what is meant by self-induction. Diagrams explain the working of choke and illustrate the effects of varying frequency. The effect of an inductor on the make and break of a circuit and its application in the starting of a fluorescent lamp is shown. Illustrates applications of inductors in bells, fluorescent tubes, signals and other electrical equipment.
