Describes the work of the Pomona Experimental Farm at Murrayville in Victoria, in the use of underground water. Bores were sunk and yielded ample water but problems had still to be overcome in the preparation of the irrigation area. The manufacturing processes of the Pomona Deep Well Turbine pump illustrate the care and engineering precision in the production assembly and testing of the pump units. Irrigation scheme using bore water provide Mallee farmers with security against the threat of drought.
