This film was discussed on ABC Gippsland Radio on 14 March 2020. The following are comments for viewers which add insight into the film

Martin Richardson “Joe” is Joe Southon, from Paynesville who wasn’t actually a Lakes Entrance fisherman, but was the chosen “talent” for the movie - it was through his connections that the film crew came down here to make the movie. He was a farmer, part-time fisherman, and farm manager whose property occupied a large part of what is now the town of Paynesville. He was also involved in many civic roles around the Bairnsdale Shire. His daughter Beryl and son Bluey still live in Paynesville.
