Describes the life of people on Western Germany depicting them in a variety of occupations form the southern uplands to the Western plains in the country, village and city. Tells something of the history and cultural past of the Germans and gives an idea of life today in the major regions of Germany - the Rhineland, and uplands of the south, and the northern plains. Emphasizes the reconstruction of prosperity in spite of Germany’s war devastation and partition.
