Describes the construction of the Brown Coal Gasification Plant at Morwell in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley. The Plant is designed to use the Lurgi High Pressure Gasification process and will be immediately capable of delivering 15 million cubic feet daily. Shows the laying of the 103 mile gas pipe-line to Melbourne and the official opening of the Plant by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh in December 1956.
