Reviews Volta and Galvani’s early experiments in electro-chemistry. Uses experiments recreated in the physics laboratories in the University of Rome, the artifacts of Galvani’s and Volta’s laboratories, and the sketches and notes of their experiments to chronicle the great debate of Galvani and Volta on animal electricity vs bi-metallic electricity.
