Spanish born cellist Pablo casals is filmed here conducting a rehearsal of Beethoven’s 7th Symphony in preparation for the annual Casals Festival at San Juan, Puerto Rico. The film concentrates on the 94 year old Casals’ gestures and speech as he conducts, and interrupts to correct the playing of the orchestra during the opening to the first movement.
