This is a compilation of early short silent films made between 1900-1905 about newsworthy events. Each “short” is preceded by explanatory titles as follows: THE BOER WAR: DEPARTURE OF THE GORDON HIGHLANDERS (OCT. 1899); LORD ROBERTS ARRIVES IN CAPE TOWN (JAN.1900); STREET SCENE IN LEEDS (C.1903); SCENE ON BRIGHTON PIER (C.1898); FIRE BRIGADE SCENE IN BRITAIN, FRANCE AND U.S.A. (C.1896-1902); FUNERAL OF QUEEN VICTORIA (FEB.1901).
