The Manhattan Project, the making of the first atomic bomb. History of the making of this weapon, the political background, the war situation in 1945 and the final testing in New Mexica. Also includes the meeting at Potsdam where Churchill, Stalin and Truman discussed the European situation and the war with Japan. Truman advised Stalin that a secret weapon of some magnitude had been made. The decision to drop the bomb on Hiroshima was carried out while Truman was returning to the United States.
