The cashew nut industry in Kerala, India. Part of the Indian Government five-year plan is to promote and develop this growing industry. With government loans and cashew tree cuttings, the Development Officer encourages local farmers to help poor farms become self-supporting. he advises the planting of other crops between the trees. The cashew crop is sold to a co-operative store where it is dried, bagged, weighed, roasted, shelled, graded then finally packed for world-wide export.
