The film through interviews, discusses the problems of automation and the alternatives. The contrast is shown between a Ford factory where the assembly line was devised sixty years ago, the fastest car factory in the world - the General Motors plant in Ohio, the Volvo plant in Sweden, and an Avon factory in Sydney.
