Recreates life as it was in the Murray River district during the 19th century. Traces the development of the area from Swan Hill to Echuca, which became the centre of one of the largest navigable river systems in the world. Considers the re-shaping of the river by man for irrigation, development of farming in the area, and growth of Echuca as a port.
