This film traces the laying of the first transatlantic submarine telephone cable, made possible by the cooperation of technologists and engineers in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. Describes the routing of landlines on both sides of the Atlantic; the drama and precision involved in the laying of cables between Britain and Newfoundland.
