Stereoscopic Viewer and cards

Object

A stereoscope viewer is a device for viewing stereoscopic images which are made up of two separate images, with slightly differing perspectives that roughly correspond to the spacing of both the left and right the eyes. When the image is viewed through the stereoscopic viewer, the pair of images converge into a single three-dimensional picture.

Content notification

Our collection comprises over 40,000 moving image works, acquired and catalogued between the 1940s and early 2000s. As a result, some items may reflect outdated, offensive and possibly harmful views and opinions. ACMI is working to identify and redress such usages.
