An array of delightful characters strut towards you, flaunting a wild range of forms, sizes and materials. Each model in this fantasy fashion parade has their own anthropomorphic walk and personality, as well as unique garments and costumes that could only exist in the digital sphere. In an age when we’re anxious about artificial intelligence, these dapper androids suggest that a friendlier relationship between machines and humanity is possible.
Maison Autonome is a continuation of Universal Everything’s fascination with choreography. When characters (or real people!) sashay down a catwalk, they don’t walk the way they normally do. It’s highly stylised, an expressive mode of motion and way of presenting yourself – like dance. You can hear the performance in the stylish soundtrack and see it in the swing of the robots’ hips and the poses they make before they strut away.

There are 150 models in this 30-minute computational couture show, which takes the language of fashion and makes it oversized, fluid and truly space-age.
