The Frank Eidlitz Collection contains the 16mm and 35mm film work of graphic designer and visual artist Frank Eidlitz (1923–1997), predominantly made during a Winston Churchill Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge in 1966. The collection contains Eidlitz’s experiments with light, movement and technology in film.

This short film, conceived by Frank Eidlitz and photographed by Maurice Amar, is titled ‘Raga Doll’ and explores experiments with light and movement. Its frenetic pace features fragmented footage of a woman dancing, overlaid with flashing lights and shapes. The accompanying soundtrack is frantic and wild, featuring fast-paced drums and vocal screams.

This film was screened at UBU Films’ ‘Experimental and Underground Movies’ in the Union Theatre, Sydney and at Strines Gallery, Melbourne in 1967, upon Eidlitz’s return to Australia from the US.
