Reach for the Stars is a re-released and updated version of the DOS era game of the same name, the earliest example of a game in the 4X genre. The player starts off in a single planetary system and must eventually create and run an interstellar empire. In typical 4X style, this is done by exploring the universe around the player, expanding by claiming new territory, exploiting any resources in the area and exterminating any opponents along the way. The re-release features updated graphics and new scenarios for the player.
