Filmmaker Alexander Nicoll made a range of home movies in Australia from the 1930s to the 1960s. The family film collection was donated to ACMI by Alexandar’s son Mac.

This reel features scenes of the family in the countryside, walking, driving and a visit to the ‘Sea Winds Cafe’.

Selected highlights list:
00:00:45:00 after views of a large waterway and the countryside, people standing by a 1940s car and a ‘Bonds Greyhound Line’ bus
00:01:33:00 road footage taken from inside the car
00:02:00:00 women and dog wandering along through grassland
00:02:30:00 woman knitting in a deckchair
00:03:05:00 a cafe for which we see a glimpse of the sign before the footage ends, ‘Sea Winds Cafe’
