Fourteen-year-old Benjamin Law is desperate to win his school’s talent show. Not only must he chart a course to high-school stardom, but he also needs to navigate all the issues of Australian adolescence: embarrassing parents, bickering siblings, school bullies, best friends and his own sexuality.

Based on Benjamin Law’s 2010 book of the same name, The Family Law was the first Australian TV show to focus on an Asian Australian family. While it explores familiar stories about an everyday family, it offers a uniquely Asian Australian perspective on what it means to be Australian today.
