A still image from [5 Couleurs de France]

This film is a TV Color Paris production titled ‘5 Couleurs de France’, which translates as ‘5 Colours of France’. It features a presentation on the 1967 Cannes Film Festival, with a voiceover spoken in English. The 1967 festival was the 20th anniversary of the festival. The film includes snippets of interviews with Claude Lelouche, Sylva Koscina, Robert Bresson, Monica Vitti and Vanessa Redgrave, translated by the narrator.

It also contains footage of film stars and directors at the festival, particularly at the awards ceremony. These include guest of honour Brigitte Bardot, award presenter Virna Lisi and winner of the Palme d’Or (then known as the Grand Prix International du Festival) Michelangelo Antonioni, for his film ‘Blow Up’.

The colour is faded throughout the film.
