Serving in the Australian army in East Timor, Mohammed Abdur Rahman and his fellow soldiers were attacked by the Indonesian army many times and involved in some highly publicized events. Over time, Rahman became quite connected to the nation and its people, performing humanitarian work and witnessing East Timor’s struggle towards independence.
