Alfred Zerfas gives background to and outlines the achievements of Social Education and Development Society (SEDS). This organisation was started in the 1980s in response to the crushing effects of drought in Southern India. With persistance over the decades, the work of SEDS, in collaboration with the communities they support, has brought about economic, social and enviromental change in these communities with lasting benefits.

Our collection comprises over 40,000 moving image works, acquired and catalogued between the 1940s and early 2000s. As a result, some items may reflect outdated, offensive and possibly harmful views and opinions. ACMI is working to identify and redress such usages.
