The Parachute workers thumbnail image.

Despite being discouraged, Peg Osborne wanted to contribute to Australia’s World War II effort. She joined the air force and was sent to Bairnsdale as a textile worker. She reflects on her time there, the work, relations with the male workers, and the sorrows as well as the humour that keep everyone’s spirits up and the friends that Peg will never forget.
