An account of a typical ‘lazy day’ by the river in Warburton which suddenly turns nasty when Bonnie and her friends realise the gravity of the fire. She recounts her anxiety and wanting to leave Warburton and her frustration at her family’s indecisions. She is stuck in Lysterfield after they evacuate with 17 people.
